The team at Extraordinary Berry Co have developed patented technology that we now use at Berry Farming Ltd on the sunny south coast of the UK in West Sussex to grow outstanding quality Strawberries year-round for some of the UK’s leading supermarkets.
Berry Farming also grows the highest quality blackberries. We grow a supersweet, large variety with outstanding flavour.
Our Story
We started work in 2018 on a plan to improve the supply of fresh berries using innovative disruptive growing techniques. Our first harvest was in 2019, and since then, the farm has thrived with now 6 hectares of protected hydroponic strawberry production, as well as 3.7 hectares of blackberry production spread over three greenhouses around the Chichester area.
We use an innovative, patented growing system called Matrix-GSTM to enable us to grow delicious British strawberries year-round. Not only can we produce strawberries in January that taste as wonderful as those grown in the middle of Wimbledon fortnight, but we do it with a fraction of the environmental impacts that come with the alternative supply routes throughout the import season.
